Track Qualifies Two for World Junior Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - Baylor sophomore Quentin Iglehart-Summers (San Antonio, Texas) ran 46.02 to capture the 400-meter crown at the United States Track & Field Junior Championships at Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium.
By finishing in the top two, Iglehart-Summers qualified for the IAAF World Junior Championships Aug. 15-20 in Beijing, China. Incoming freshman J.T. Scheuerman (Littleton, Colo.) finished fifth in the race with a time of 46.56.
Sophomore Erin Bedell (Plano, Texas) also will compete at the world championships, finishing second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:25.86. Bedell was also a member of the U.S. Junior Cross Country team which competed in Japan in April.
On the senior circuit, Darold Williamson finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 44.94, while Jerome Miller finished 22nd in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.95. In the first round of the 200 meters, Jeremy Wariner ran the fastest time at 20.28 and will run in the semifinals and finals when the championships conclude Sunday.
