Baylor volleyball returns to action after a week off as it travels to face No. 19 Missouri Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hearnes Center in Columbia, Mo. The live audio broadcast begins at 6:15 on BaylorBears.com.
Senior outside hitter Nicole LeBlanc leads the Bears and ranks eighth in the Big 12 Conference with 4.00 kills per game and also averages 3.08 digs per game. Senior middle blocker Desiree Guilliard-Young is hitting .403 with 3.09 kills and is tied for second in the conference with 1.57 blocks per game. Junior libero Kristen Schramek leads the team and ranks fifth in the Big 12 with 4.45 digs per game.
In their last match, the Bears pulled out a five-game victory over Texas Tech last Wednesday night at the Ferrell Center and won its 11th match in its last 12. Baylor remained undefeated at home at 6-0 as Guilliard-Young had 17 kills and nine blocks to rally the Bears down the stretch. LeBlanc led Baylor with 18 kills and added 12 digs, while Schramek had 23 digs.
Missouri is led by Jessica Vander Kooi, who ranks fourth in the Big 12 with 4.40 kills per game and Tatum Ailes, who ranks third in the league with 5.00 digs per game.
The Tigers steamrolled No. 5 Texas in three games (30-23, 30-23, 30-19) in their last match Saturday at home and have now won their last three matches.
