NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Baylor senior outside hitter Nicole LeBlanc (Tampa, Fla.) recorded 16 kills and 14 digs as the Bears held off Arkansas State 3-1 (30-23, 28-30, 30-25, 30-15) in the afternoon, then senior middle blocker Desiree Guilliard-Young (Berkeley, Calif.) had 14 kills and eight blocks as the Bears swept host Stephen F. Austin in the nightcap, 3-0 (30-20, 30-27, 30-22) at the Austin Bank/SFA Invitational Friday at William R. Johnson Coliseum.
The Bears (9-1) have now won seven in a row, their longest streak since winning the first eight of the 2001 season, and notched career wins Nos. 198 and 199 for head coach Jim Barnes.
Against SFA, LeBlanc posted her second double-double of the day and fifth of the season with 13 kills and 10 digs, while freshman Lauren Keeton (Groesbeck, Texas) added eight kills for the second straight match.
Freshman middle blocker Anna Breyfogle (Buda, Texas) hit .429 with six kills and four blocks and freshman right-side hitter Katie Sanders (Katy, Texas) added five kills.
Freshman setter Taylor Barnes (Arlington, Texas) was solid all-around with four kills, 37 assists, 11 digs and three aces - all in one service rotation - to spark the Bears to an insurmountable lead in game three. Junior libero Kristen Schramek (San Antonio, Texas) led the Bears defensively with 18 digs - a total of 42 for the day.
Lauren Railey led the Ladyjacks with nine kills, while Stephanie Figgers had a match-high 20 digs.
Baylor outhit SFA, .292-.102, outdug them, 62-59, and outblocked them, 12.5-4.0.

Guilliard-Young hit .440 with 14 kills and seven blocks, while Breyfogle and Sanders had 10 kills each against Arkansas State. Keeton added eight kills and four digs.
Schramek had a season-high 24 digs, while Barnes had three kills, a career-high 14 digs and 49 assists. Sophomore defensive specialist Amanda Renz (The Woodlands, Texas) added 11 digs.
Robin Aaron led Arkansas State (3-3) with 13 kills, while Randilyne Volkmer had a match-high 28 digs.
Baylor hit .225 for the match, while holding Arkansas State to .064. The Bears outdug the Indians 80-73 and outblocked them, 12.0-6.0.
In Friday's other action, Tennessee State defeated Houston, 3-2 in the morning match, before falling to SFA, 3-1. Arkansas State rebounded from its loss to hand Houston its second five-game loss of the day, 3-2.
