The two-time NAIA National Coach of the Year bolsters the Bears’ staff
WACO – Baylor volleyball head coach, Ryan McGuyre, announced the addition Master's University head men's coach Jared Goldberg to the staff on Monday morning.
Replacing associate head coach, Joshua Walker, who was tabbed as the newest head coach at Hawaii earlier this month, Goldberg spent the last six seasons leading Master's University to a 112-28 record and the program's first-ever National Championship in 2025. McGuyre is thrilled to boost his staff with a coach of Goldberg's quality.
"Jared is an exceptional coach who brings national championship experience with an incredible work ethic," he said. "Winning is hard and Jared has clearly demonstrated an impressive ability to work just as hard to ensure success for his athletes and program. He has worked diligently in all aspects. Having coached collegiate men and women I am confident his tactical and technical expertise will continue to multiply our success. As a head coach he has handled and juggled multiple responsibilities with efficiency. Most importantly, he is a great husband and father and leads his family well. He is a perfect fit and will enhance our Baylor Volleyball family values and virtues."
A two-time AVCA NAIA National Coach of the Year (2024, 2026), Goldberg guided the Mustangs to unprecedented success, including a perfect 27-0 season in 2025 that culminated in the program's first national championship. His teams reached the NAIA National Tournament semifinals three times and finished as national runners-up in 2024. During the 2025 and 2026 seasons, TMU tied the collegiate men's volleyball record with a 47-match winning streak.
Under Goldberg's leadership, The Master's consistently competed against and defeated some of the nation's top NCAA programs. From 2023-26, the Mustangs posted a 13-2 record against NCAA Division I and II opponents, highlighted by victories over nationally ranked programs including Stanford, Pepperdine, Hawai'i, UC Irvine and Cal State Northridge.
Goldberg developed some of the top talent in the country during his tenure, coaching four consecutive AVCA NAIA National Players of the Year from 2023-26 while mentoring 15 All-Americans. He also recruited the first top-10 nationally ranked men's volleyball prospect to sign with an NAIA institution.
Before taking over at The Master's, Goldberg spent four years at Harvard, serving as both an assistant coach for the men's and women's volleyball programs. During his time with the Crimson men's program, he helped guide Harvard to its first NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association championship. As the program's primary recruiting coordinator, he assembled the largest recruiting class in school history and helped develop multiple All-EIVA and AVCA All-America honorees.
Goldberg also served as an assistant coach at Morehead State, where he helped engineer a dramatic turnaround for the Eagles' women's volleyball program, improving from a three-win season to back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference Tournament appearances.
Working as a technical coordinator with USA Volleyball as a technical coordinator for the 2015 Women's Junior National Team and assisted with scouting, analytics and player development for several national team programs.
A former collegiate player at Grand Canyon and the University of the Pacific, Goldberg earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from Grand Canyon and an MBA from Ole Miss.
