Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew
On the game:
"Tough one for the Bears, but credit Oklahoma. We were in tune the first five minutes of the game and really played well, but it looked like we were moving in quick sand the rest of the game. I want to credit their defense because they really locked down after the first five minutes. Offensively, they did a great job executing."
On Oklahoma's defense:
"They have great length on the perimeter. One thing that I think they do a great job is defending the perimeter. When we started struggling, we weren't getting good looks. Credit their defense for that."
On what makes Oklahoma a good rebounding team:
"They have really tough kids. Nate (Carter) is a tough kid, Taylor (Griffin) is a tough kid. They have really good size and good bodies, and Longar (Longar) is long, obviously. They do a great job of fighting and getting position. They out-worked us today."
Oklahoma Head Coach Jeff Capel
On the game:
"We feel very good about this win. We beat a talented Baylor team -- a team that has been playing well all year. I thought our guys did some very good things and we were very efficient offensively. It may be one of the most efficient games we've had. Our defense created some easy baskets for us. We were able to get out in transition."
On the individual performances:
"Nate Carter, once again, played great for us. Mike Neal shot the ball well and Bobby Maze did a very good job for us coming off the bench. He did a very good job of penetrating their zone. He got into the gaps and attacked the zone. I thought Longar (Longar) did well for us also. He was a little rusty early but he made some good moves and helped us out. All of our guys played really well. "
On the team's growth:
"In any offense you run, if you're not making shots, your offense is not going to look good. We're getting a lot better. We were able to defend at a higher level. We are learning how important communication is and we did a good job of stepping over and helping each other out. With that, it means our guys are starting to trust each other and starting to trust what they are doing."
On the development as a team this season:
"I think we've gotten better. We haven't been good in what we've been trying to do all year long. They are starting to trust me more each day. It's a process in any relationship. You don't go into most relationships and just immediately trust. It has to be earned. As each day passes, I think we're beginning to see a team that trusts each other more and trusts what we're doing."
Oklahoma Senior Forward Nate Carter
On his 22 points today:
"I don't even realize how many points I'm scoring, I`m just out there enjoying myself and enjoying being with my teammates. I am just playing extremely hard and am taking it one game at a time. It's awesome to have Longar (Longar) back because that helps our entire team."
On getting to the free throw line for 10 attempts today:
"I was trying to get in there and be aggressive against their players. They are bigger than me so I was just trying to play strong. When my teammates got me the ball they got it to me at the right time."
Oklahoma Senior Guard Michael Neal
On making his first couple of 3-pointers:
"It all comes from putting in hard work. Then when the opportunity arises to shoot, I shoot it. Coach Capel encourages me to shoot the ball when I get an open look."
On the fan atmosphere aiding the team:
"Tonight was awesome because the fans were into the game and we fed off of them. We played with a lot of energy and came together as a team and that is what you have to do to win these games. We fed off the students and played well tonight."
On upcoming game with OSU:
"They are a good team and are ranked in the top 25 and we know it is going to be tough getting a victory up there. But we are playing with a lot of confidence and that will be a big key in that game."
