Baylor's equestrian team, on its third straight road competition, lost 16-8 at Texas A&M on Sunday at the N.W. `Dick' Freeman Arena in College Station, Texas.
In English competition, Baylor and the Aggies rode to a 6-6 tie. The Bears' Kendra Vicary, Mary Smitson and Nicole Brown were all double winners as each earned a point in both Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat.
In the Western discipline, the Aggies posted a 4-2 margin in Horsemanship and were 6-0 in reining to claim the victory. Morgan Williams and Lindsay Douglas scored Baylor's two points, both in horsemanship. Morgan earned her second MVP of the season with her triumph in horsemanship.
Three teams, Delaware State, Stephen F. Austin and TCU, will travel to Waco when the Bears host the Baylor Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 25 & 26 at the Willis Family Equestrian Center. Action begins at 12 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
No admission is charged and the event is open to the public.
