Box Score

FORT WORTH, Texas - Anna Breyfogle recorded 15 kills on .625 hitting as Baylor swept TCU 3-0 (30-23, 30-27, 30-24) on Wednesday night at the University Recreation Center.

"I thought that we really came out and played well," said head coach Jim Barnes. "We were very aggressive and assertive, and I was proud that we were able to show some mental toughness and hold some leads. We struggled a little bit in game two, but we responded and finished the game."

Breyfogle tallied her 15 kills with no hitting errors in 24 total swings. She also added a match-high six total blocks. Katie Sanders added 12 kills on .357 hitting and added 12 digs to notch her 15th double-double of the season.

"Taylor set perfect balls all night," said Breyfogle. "It felt like all I needed to do was swing my arm and the ball would be there. We have been struggling to connect on the 3 attack, so it was good to finally get together on those and give us another option."

Taylor Barnes contributed eight kills with no hitting errors to go along with 41 set assists and six digs. Kristen Schramek also tallied 12 digs for the Bears.

"We had good passing, and at times it was great passing," said Barnes. "We served tough tonight as well, which helped keep TCU out of their offense."

Ashlie Christenson also reached double-figures in kills with 10.

The two teams exchanged points through the first 19 serves before Baylor scored two straight to make the score 12-9. Later, the Bears scored six out of seven points to increase their lead to 20-13. Another string of four straight points gave Baylor its largest lead at 25-17, and the Bears held on to win 30-23.

Breyfogle led the way for Baylor in game one with six kills and three total blocks. Christenson added three kills and two total blocks.

In game two, Baylor built an 11-6 lead before five straight points from TCU tied the score. The game action was close over the next 25 serves with the Bears maintaining a two point lead. With Baylor leading 25-22, the Bears reeled off four straight to pad their lead to six points. TCU scored four straight on game-point, but Baylor won 30-27.

Barnes tallied six kills for the game, while Breyfogle added five kills for the Bears.

With game three tied at 3-3, Baylor won 10 of the next 12 points to build a 16-8 lead. The lead increased for the Bears to 10 points at 20-10. The teams exchanged points over the final 20 serves as Baylor won game three 30-24 to complete the sweep.

Sanders tallied seven game three kills, while Breyfogle added four kills and three total blocks.
