Baylor returns home on Saturday afternoon as the Bears play host to third-ranked Texas at 3 p.m. at the Ferrell Center. Baylor faces its third of four-straight ranked opponents.

The Bears are coming off a 3-2 loss at No. 22 Oklahoma on Wednesday, the fourth straight 3-2 loss for Baylor. The Bears fell 3-2 at Missouri, their first five-game loss in Big 12 play, before a 3-2 road loss at Iowa State and a five-game loss at home to 12th-ranked Kansas State. The four opponents recorded a 12-1 advantage against Baylor through the first round of Big 12 action.

The teams traded serves early in game five, with Oklahoma (20-7, 12-5 Big 12) scoring two straight to hold an 8-6 lead as the teams traded sides of the court. Haley Thomas scored a kill to make the score 8-7, but two straight from Oklahoma gave the Sooners the 10-7 lead, forcing Baylor into a timeout.

Two kills by Katie Sanders and a block by Thomas and Anna Breyfogle tied the score at 10 apiece. The two teams traded the next nine serves before Anna Stadel recorded a service ace on match point to give Oklahoma the 16-14 win. Katie Sanders recorded match-highs with 22 kills and a career-high 28 digs. Ashlie Christenson added 14 kills, while Breyfogle tallied 13 kills.

Sanders tallied her 20th double-double of the season and her first-career 20 kill-20 dig match. The last time a Baylor player recorded 20 kills and 20 digs was last season when Nicole LeBlanc tallied 21 kills and 21 digs against UC-Davis. A 20 kill-20 dig match has only been accomplished 21 times in Baylor history.

Taylor Barnes tallied a match-high 62 set assists and added three services aces to increase her conference-leading total to 45 on the season. She also tied a career-high with 19 digs for her 12th double-double of the season.

Texas is tied for first place in the Big 12 conference, with its only loss to second-ranked Nebraska. The Longhorns also handed the Cornhuskers their only loss this season. Texas leads the nation with a .346 hitting percentage, while ranking fourth in assists per game, fifth in kills per game and seventh in blocks per game.
