BASTROP, Texas - Hannah Burke fired a first-round 72 as the Bears finished the first day of action in fourth place at the Challenge at Wolfdancer hosted by Texas State University on Sunday.
Following her opening round of 72, Burke shot a second-round 78 to finish the first day in sixth place, just four strokes off the pace of Taryn Durham and Morgan Hale; both Durham and Hale are from Middle Tennessee State.
Along with Burke, freshman Morgan Chambers finished the day on the individual top-10 leaderboard. Chambers recorded rounds of 77 and 76 to finish the first 54 holes of action in a tie for ninth place.
The Bears will wrap up action at the two-day event beginning on Monday at 7:45 a.m. from the Wolfdancer Golf Club in Bastrop, Texas.
