WACO, Texas - San Antonio Silver Star and former Baylor standout Sophia Young garnered All-WNBA honors following a standout season, the league announced Wednesday.
Young, in her second season in the WNBA, earned second-team All-WNBA honors after a season that saw her score 16.8 points and grab. 5.9 rebounds per game.
Voting for the All-WNBA first and second teams was conducted by a panel of national sportswriters and broadcasters.
Throughout her WNBA career, Young has been named a WNBA All-Star twice and was a 2006 All-Rookie team selection.
In honor of being named to the All-WNBA First and Second Teams, each player will receive a Tiffany-designed trophy. In addition, $10,000 will be awarded to each member of the First Team, while each member of the Second Team will receive $5,000.
While at Baylor, Young, a 6-1 forward, became the school's first two-time Kodak All-American. She scored 2,480 points and hauled down 1,316 rebounds in her four-year career.
