Tournament Brackets in PDF Format 
Baylor's men's tennis team will send its largest contingent ever to this weekend's Sherwood Collegiate Cup when seven players participate in the event. The tournament, held at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif., Jan. 18-21, will feature a 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles bracket.
"The Sherwood Classic is one of the premier singles and doubles tournaments of the preseason. With traditional tennis powers Stanford, UCLA, USC, and Pepperdine, we are sure to have challenging matches. This is a wonderful way to continue the process of getting better this spring," said head coach Matt Knoll.
The Bears will be playing in the tournament for the seventh straight season and have had considerable success in the event including the 2006 singles championship won by former Bear Matija Zgaga.
Accompanying Knoll and assistant coach Kyle Spencer to the tournament will be Attila Bucko, David Galic, Denes Lukacs, Dominik Mueller, Lars Poerschke, Jordan Rux and newcomer Gwen Corches.
Poerschke, one of two seniors on the squad, returns to the Sherwood Collegiate Cup for the third time, while his teammates are making their first appearance in the southern California tournament. Corches, the Bears' other senior, joined the team in January. The Munich, Germany, native enrolled at Baylor after leading Laredo Community College (Texas) to two national team championships and claiming the No. 1 singles national title last spring.
Poerschke and Lukacs are seeded second and third, respectively in singles while the tandem of Galic and Poerschke are the doubles bracket's No. 2 seed and Bucko and Lukacs are seeded fourth.
