BAYLOR AND NEBRASKA
No. 6 Baylor, starting Big 12 Conference play at 5-0 for the first time in the league's 12-year history, puts its 10-game win streak on the line when it hosts the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m.
Baylor is 17-1 on the season and 5-0 in Big 12 action while the Huskers are 15-4 on the year and 4-1 in league play.
The Nebraska contest marks the last of three games over a six-day span for the Lady Bears. Baylor played at Oklahoma on Sunday and at Missouri on Wednesday.
Baylor has posted five straight league wins and 10 straight overall victories, road decisions at Texas Tech (72-67), 11th-ranked Oklahoma (84-73) and Missouri (72-57) to go with home victories over No. 13 Texas A&M (59-56) and Kansas (59-35).
Baylor owns a 7-5 series lead and is 4-1 versus the Huskers in Waco. The Huskers have won two of the last three contests, both in Lincoln, including a 76-67 victory last season.

LADY BEAR LEADERS
With 18 games under their belt, the Lady Bears boast five players averaging double-digit scoring. Leading the way is the squad's lone senior, point guard Angela Tisdale, with 15.0 a contest, while Rachel Allison, a junior forward/post, manages 13.5 points and a team-leading 7.8 rebounds a game. Junior guard Jhasmin Player follows with 13.1 a contest and sophomore post Danielle Wilson manages 11.8 points an outing. Junior guard/forward Jessica Morrow completes Baylor's double-digit scoring with 10.8.
In addition to Allison's 7.8 boards, four other players haul down 4.7 or more rebounds an outing. Wilson manages 7.3 a game while Player averages 6.2, freshman Melissa Jones manages 5.0 and sophomore post Jessika Bradley snags 4.7.
LADY BEAR AND BEARS IN AP POLL
With its men's team breaking into the AP's top 25 for the first time in 39 years, Baylor becomes one of just seven schools to have both its men's and women's team ranked among the top 25 nationally this week. The Lady Bears are ranked No. 6 while the Bears broke in at No. 25 this week. Other schools that have both teams ranked among the nation's top 25 include Tennessee, North Carolina, Stanford, Duke, Pittsburgh and Texas A&M.
In addition, Baylor is one of two teams in the Big 12 Conference to have its women's and men's teams with undefeated league marks. The Lady Bears are 5-0 while the Bears are 4-0 while Kansas State's women are also 5-0 and the men's squad is 3-0.
Baylor sports a combined 33-3 record for its women's and men's teams with the Lady Bears at 17-1 and the Bears at 16-2.
BAYLOR IN BIG 12 GAMES
The 2007-08 season marks the 12th year of competition for women's basketball in the Big 12 Conference. Baylor has a record of 108-73 all-time in regular season Big 12 games. However, in Kim Mulkey's eight years, Baylor is 81-36 in Big 12 play and has never posted a losing conference record. In 2004-05 the Lady Bears claimed their first-ever Big 12 Conference championship, winning both the regular season and tournament titles.

SCOUTING THE HUSKERS
The Nebraska Huskers are 15-4 on the season and 4-1 in Big 12 Conference action. The Huskers enter the contest on a two-game winning streak and have won six of their last seven games. Their lone blemish during that period was an 80-72 loss at 11th-ranked Oklahoma.
Nebraska head coach Connie Yori is in her sixth season as the Huskers' head coach and 18th year as a head coach overall. Yori is 100-73 in her six seasons at Nebraska and 295-213 in 18 campaigns all-told along the sidelines.
Nebraska is led in scoring and rebounding by 6-2 senior forward Danielle Page's 12.7 points and 6.9 rebounds an outing. Junior Kelsey Griffin, a 6-2 forward, is the team's second-leading scorer and rebounder with 12.4 points and 6.1 rebounds a contest. Cory Montgomery, a 6-2 sophomore forward, comes off the bench and completes the Tigers' double-digit scoring with 11.4 a contest and ranks No. 3 in rebounding with 5.4 a game.
SERIES RECORD
Baylor and Nebraska will meet for the 13th time when the two teams square off on Saturday evening. All 12 previous matchups have come since the formation of the Big 12 Conference. Baylor leads the series 7-5, including a 4-1 mark in Waco, and has won five of the last seven contests. However, Nebraska won last year's contest in Lincoln, 76-67, and has triumphed in two of the last three games.
Coach Mulkey owns a 5-2 record against Nebraska, including 3-0 in Waco.
