Final Stats

COLUMBIA, Mo. -

Despite a career-high 11 saves from junior goalie Gianna Quintana, the Baylor soccer team (5-10-2, 1-6-1) was unsuccessful knocking off No. 20 Missouri (12-4-0, 6-2-0) as the Bears fell 2-0 to the Tigers at Audrey J. Walton Soccer Field on Friday.

Quintana's 11 saves surpasses her old mark of eight set on Sept. 28 of this season against Texas A&M.

Baylor had a chance to take an early lead in the sixth minute, but Lara Doherty's shot was just wide.

Missouri got on the board in the 30th minute as Ashley Hamblin took a free kick and found the head of Candace Ruff for a 1-0 lead.

Behind seven first half saves by Quintana, the Bears kept the deficit at one heading into the break.

The Tigers added to their lead in the 77th minute after another header found the back of the net. This time, Meghan Pfeiffer recorded her second goal of the season, giving Missouri its final margin of victory, 2-0.

Baylor will head to Kansas (10-6-1), who dropped a 1-0 decision to Texas on Friday, to face the Jayhawks on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex in Lawrence.
