Head Coach Scott Drew
Opening Statement:
"It starts on the defensive end. When you get stops, it helps you get into transition. Quincy Acy came in and we went on a 9-0 run. He gave us a great energy boost and that really got us going. Early on we played good defense, they made some tough shots and credit [Paul Quinn] for getting off to a good start."
On Baylor's defensive effort:
"From a coaching side you don't want to start gambling and trying to block everything. You want to make sure that you are playing good, solid basketball."
On Quincy Acy:
"When he steps onto the court in practice, instantly the energy level goes up. I think the first day of practice he was so energized after stretching and warming up that he needed a timeout because he was so tired. He is just one of those guys that will go 100 miles an hour. His energy is outstanding."
Guard Henry Dugat On the team effort:
"With the guards that we have and the versatile big men that we have, we can run the floor and get a lot of easy looks. We force them to guard certain things, which leaves players open. I think that is when we are at our best when we are out there playing together, sharing the ball and just having fun. "
Guard Curtis Jerrells On what makes Baylor effective on offense:
"As a team, you know how your team plays. We are at our best when we are playing fast. When we try and hold the ball or make too many passes, things that we are not use to doing, I think that is when we starting making mistakes. When we actually pass with a purpose and cut with a purpose and attack that is when we are at our best."
