Men's Hoops to Play in 2009 Old Spice Classic

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - The Baylor men's basketball team has been selected to participate in the 2009 Old Spice Classic to be held on Thanksgiving weekend at the Milk House at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando. The field was announced Monday by ESPN Regional Television, Inc. (ERT), a subsidiary of ESPN. ERT also hosted the second annual 76 Classic at which the Bears finished second with a 2-1 mark.
In addition to Baylor, the field for the fourth annual Old Spice Classic will include Alabama (SEC), Creighton (Missouri Valley), Iona (MAAC), Marquette (BIG EAST), Michigan (Big Ten) and Xavier (Atlantic 10). The eighth team will be announced at a later date. Three of the seven teams announced - Baylor, Marquette and Xavier - reached the 2007 NCAA Tournament.
The 2009 Old Spice Classic will feature 12 games in three days (Nov. 26, 27 and 29). Sponsors include Old Spice, ESPNU and Disney's Wide World of Sports. The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) will serve as the event's sponsoring conference for the fourth straight year.
The Old Spice Classic's tournament setup is identical to that of the 76 Classic. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracket-tournament format. The two undefeated teams will face off in a championship match on Sunday, Nov. 29.

Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex
Opened in 1997 at Walt Disney World Resort, Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex is a leading sports and entertainment venue for amateur and professional sports in the United States.
