Baylor returns to action with a pair of midweek games this week. Tuesday, the Bears travel to Fort Worth, Texas, for a 7:15 p.m. CDT game against TCU at Lupton Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on CBS College Sports (formerly CSTV). Wednesday, Baylor hosts UTSA for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch at Baylor Ballpark.

The Bears (16-9) posted a 7-3 victory in Sunday's series finale at Oklahoma after dropping the first two games of the series. Baylor, which is unranked for the first time this season, is 5-8 since enjoying an 11-1 start. The Bears are 4-7 on the road this season, all coming on opponents' home fields. Baylor is 12-2 at home this season and 4-3 in midweek games.

TCU (14-12) dropped the final two games of its weekend series at UNLV after winning the opener. The Horned Frogs are 11-5 at home and 8-0 in midweek games this season.

UTSA (18-10) won the first two games of its weekend series at home against UT Arlington before dropping Sunday's finale 14-7. The Roadrunners are 2-4 on the road this season, all coming on opponents' home fields.

BAYLOR vs. TCU

Baylor and TCU meet for the 236th time Tuesday. This is the third most-played series in Baylor baseball history behind only Texas (325 meetings) and Texas A&M (259). The Bears hold a 133-102 advantage in the all-time series, which dates back to the 1904 season.

TCU holds a 49-48 advantage in games played at Fort Worth. The Bears won the last meeting at Lupton Stadium 3-0 as Wade Mackey tossed a two-hit shutout in a game televised on CSTV. TCU ended Baylor's 2007 season, rallying for a seven-run ninth to defeat the Bears 10-5 at the NCAA Houston Regional.

BAYLOR vs. UTSA

Baylor and UTSA meet on the diamond for the 28th time Tuesday. The Bears hold a commanding 25-2 advantage in the all-time series, which dates back to a 12-4 Baylor victory Feb. 23, 1993 at San Antonio. UTSA began its baseball program in 1992. The teams met once last season, a 9-1 Baylor victory.

Nearly all the Baylor-UTSA contests have come during head coach Steve Smith's tenure. The Bears are 23-0 against the Roadrunners in that time, including an 8-3 Baylor victory in the first round of the 2005 NCAA Waco Regional. UTSA's two victories in the series both came during the 1994 season: 10-2 at San Antonio (2/23) and 7-6 at Ferrell Field (4/27).

Baylor successfully staved off a Big 12 road sweep for the first time since April 28, 2002, at Kansas State. The Bears had lost six consecutive such games since the 2002 Kansas State series. ... SS Beamer Weems went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Sunday's finale; Weems, normally a switch-hitter, batted from the right side of the plate against right-handed pitching for the first time in his career. ... RF Aaron Miller posted his third multiple-homer game of the season in Sunday's finale at Oklahoma; it was the fourth multiple-homer game of his career. Miller is the first Bear with at least three multiple-homer games in a season since Josh Ford had three in 2004 and the first Bear with at least four career multiple-homer games since Ford had four (2002-2005). ... With eight home runs this season, Miller already has matched or eclipsed Baylor's regular-season leader in homers for each of the past three seasons (2005 - Kyle Reynolds, 8; 2006 - Seth Fortenberry, 7; 2007 - Weems, 8).
