Baylor head coach Steve Smith:
On Texas A&M's offense:
"Even early in the game when they weren't scoring, we mislocated a lot of pitches, and they did a great job of handling the mistakes."
On Shawn Tolleson's performance:
"The ball was up. He pitched the first batter of the game well, but after that it was more lucky than good - and not very lucky."
On the lack of offensive production:
"It has never ever been so obvious to me how young and fragile we are as an offense. The difference has never been so big. They've got pretty much a veteran lineup offensively, which really showed. We are still very young. The pitching for them is young, but pretty talented. Both (Brooks) Raley last night and the kid tonight (Barret Loux) are really talented kids. If you've got a young, talented guy on the mound surrounded by a bunch of veteran players who swing the bat and can play a little defense behind you, then you can make that happen. We're trying to do it the other way right now. We have to pitch in order to have a chance, and clearly we weren't effective pitching tonight."
Baylor junior LF Adam Hornung:
On falling behind early in the game:
"From pretty much the second inning on, there wasn't much happening. We need to come out tomorrow and do what they did today - come out and start hitting the ball and scoring some runs."
On the team's mindset heading into today's game:
"We definitely wanted to come out and even up the series and then try to win the series tomorrow, but now we're going to come out tomorrow and just try to salvage the series. It's a big game for us tomorrow."
On Texas A&M RHP Barret Loux:
"He threw the ball really well. (He had a) good fastball and a good changeup, and he came out and threw strikes. He got us out, so he did what he was supposed to do."
Baylor freshman RHP Shawn Tolleson:
On his performance:
"I was just leaving the ball up a little bit. I had trouble keeping it down, and they were putting good swings on it."
On pitching in front of the large crowd:
"There was plenty of adrenaline pumping, I was out there trying to give my best game, and I just was leaving the ball up. They're a good-hitting club, and if you do that (leave the ball up), they're going to get some hits."
