Volleyball Completes Preseason Scrimmage

WACO, Texas - The Baylor volleyball team completed its preseason intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday afternoon at the Ferrell Center. The Bears open the season this weekend, hosting the Baylor Invitational. Baylor's season opener is Friday at 7 p.m. against SMU.
Ashlie Christenson led all attackers with 16 kills, while Katie Sanders added 14 winners. Freshman middle blocker Briana Tolbert contributed nine kills.
Brittany Ridenour had 33 set assists, while Taylor Barnes, a preseason All-Big 12 selection, tallied 31 assists and added two service aces. Anna Breyfogle, who was also selected to the preseason All-Big 12 team, led the way with five total blocks including one solo. Tolbert also recorded five total blocks.
Jordan Rice led all defensive players with 18 digs. Barnes added 17, while liberos Allison King and Caitlyn Trice recorded 13 and 12 digs, respectively. Sanders also reached double-digit digs with 10.
Baylor returns to action on Friday night as the Bears play host to SMU. The game will be broadcast live on the internet at BaylorBears.com.
