STILLWATER, Okla. - A Kyndall Treadwill goal in the 23rd minute led Oklahoma State (11-7-0, 5-5-0) to a 1-0 win over Baylor (8-5-4, 3-4-2) Sunday afternoon at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
"It was an extremely competitive game and very exciting," head coach Marci Jobson said. "Our young group created some good chances, but Oklahoma State did too and they finished theirs. We just need to regroup and prepare for Oklahoma."
Oklahoma State got on the board in the 23rd minute when Treadwell took a shot from 12 yards out that found the back of the net to the far post side for a 1-0 lead.
The Bears managed three shots on goal in the game, as Hanna Gilmore got off the first one in the 13th minute, only to be saved by OSU keeper Adrianna Franch.
Baylor had a great chance in the 32nd minute, but Lotto Smith's header was thwarted by Franch.
The final opportunity came in the 77th minute from Lisa Sliwinski, but another save from French kept the Bears scoreless.
Baylor and Oklahoma State were even in shots, each taking nine in the game, but the Cowgirls held the advantage in corner kicks, 6-1.
The Bears will play their final game of the regular season on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m. at Oklahoma. A win or tie for the Bears or a Kansas tie or loss ensures them a trip to the Big 12 Tournament for the first time since 2006.
