VB's Breyfogle Earns Academic All-District

WACO, Texas - Senior middle blocker Anna Breyfogle was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District team for the third consecutive year, as announced by College Sports Information Directors of America officials on Thursday.

Breyfogle, a psychology major who maintains a 3.47 grade point average is leading the Big 12 in blocking at 1.38 blocks per set, and has racked up 117 on the season, 20 more than any other player in the conference. In addition, the Buda, Texas, native is second in the league and leads BU in hitting percentage at .348 (220k-57e-468ta).

Breyfogle helped Baylor to a school-record 11 straight wins to open the season, and the best start to a season in school history, winning 17 of their first 18 matches. The Bears are ranked 22nd in the NCAA with a 19-6 record, including an 8-6 mark in Big 12 play.

The honor marked the third consecutive season Breyfogle has earned the honor, and fourth straight year for a Baylor volleyball player with Nicole LeBlanc earning second-team honors in 2006. Breyfogle earned third-team honors in 2007, second-team honors last season, and third team honors this season. It also marks the ninth all-district honor in program history.
