IRVING, Texas - Baylor's Hannah Burke has been named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month for competition through March, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Oklahoma State's Morgan Hoffmann received the same honor on the men's side. This is the first-career league award for both golfers.

For the month of March, Burke tallied a scoring average 76 while leading the Lady Bears to a tournament title at the Cincinnati Invitational and a third place finish at the Baylor Spring Invite. Burke, a junior from Hertfordshire, England, carded a three-round total of 227 (77-74-76) at the UC Invitational to finish third overall, tallying her seventh top-five finish of her three-year career at Baylor.

Earlier in the month, Burke tied for sixth individually at Baylor's home course during the Baylor Spring Invitational with a three-round score of 229 (77-73-79). Burke's 1-over, 73 during the second round of the Baylor Invite was a tournament-low by the 19 Big 12 student-athletes competiting at the 54-hole tournament.

The Lady Bears conclude its 2008-09 season April 24-26 at the Big 12 Championships in Lubbock, Texas.
