Complete All-Big 12 Team
IRVING, Texas - Middle blocker Elizabeth Graham was named to the All-Big 12 Conference First Team, as announced by league officials on Monday afternoon. The all-conference teams are voted by the league's head coaches.
Graham is the 15th Baylor player in Big 12 history to be selected for postseason awards, and the 10th player selected to the all-conference first team. A senior transfer from Texas, Graham has been Baylor's most consistent threat this season, leading the team in hitting percentage, kills and blocks. The senior ranks first in the Big 12 in total blocks with 152, while ranking third in the conference and 25th in the NCAA with 1.29 blocks per set.
The Leander, Texas, native ranks eighth in the league with a .307 hitting percentage, while her 318 kills are eighth-best in the Big 12. She has record at least 10 kills in 18 matches this season, and at least five blocks in 15 times. Earlier this season, Graham set a single-match school record with 13 blocks in four sets against Stephen F. Austin, on her way to Baylor Classic All-Tournament honors.
Graham helped Baylor to a 16-15 record, including a 9-11 mark in Big 12 play. During league play, she had the sixth best hitting percentage in the conference at a clip of .312, while racking up 235 kills and 88 blocks in Baylor's 20 league matches. She had more kills per set than any other middle blocker in the Big 12, with an average of 3.18.
Graham was also an Academic All-Big 12 selection, a Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll member and a member of the Baylor Dean's List for the semester.
Individual awards were also handed out by the Big 12 with Texas' Juliann Faucette being named the Player of the Year, while Texas head coach Jerritt Elliott and Nebraska head coach John Cook shared the Coach of the Year honors. Nebraska also took home the Newcomer of the Year award with Lauren Cook and the Defensive Player of the Year award with Hannah Werth. Oklahoma's Sallie McLaurin was named the Freshman of the Year, while Iowa State's Ashley Mass was named the Libero of the Year.
