THE TOP FIVE
- The Bears, entering one of the toughest stretches of the season in conference play, have lost four of their last six matches, including the last two on the road against RPI Top-25 teams Oklahoma (No. 22) and Iowa State (No. 16). The losses dropped them to seventh in the Big 12, but the Bears can get back into a sixth-place tie with Texas A&M with a win over the Aggies.
- Despite a 5-8 Big 12 record, the Bears rank in the top six in all seven major categories. While leading in digs per set (18.60), Baylor is ranked third in opponent hitting percentage (.171), and fourth in both assists per set (12.76) and blocks per set (2.37). Nationally, the Bears are ranked third in digs, and hold a top-55 ranking in assists, kills and blocks.
- Baylor's back-row defense is ranked third in the NCAA in digs per set, averaging 18.60. BU also leads the Big 12 by a huge margin, posting two digs per set more than any Big 12 team. As a team, Baylor has racked up a league-leading 1,693 total digs on the season, and is averaging 18.66 digs per set in its 12 conference matches.
- Senior Caitlyn Trice and junior Allison King have led Baylor to its top ranking in digs per set. Trice leads the conference with 5.22 dps, while King is ranked ninth in the league at 4.09. They are the only set of teammates in the top 10 in that category in the Big 12. Meanwhile, Trice's average is on pace to shatter King's single-season digs-per-set record of 4.46 set in 2009.
- In each of the last two meetings, the Bears and Aggies have needed five sets, with Baylor taking both matches. Interestingly, the visiting team has won each of the last five meetings.
