Track Completes Opener at Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Baylor's track and field team opened the 2010-11 season at the Reveille Invitational on Saturday in College Station, Texas.With finals week in full swing, Baylor was able to only send a small contingent of student-athletes to the meet.
Sophomore Lizzy Whitney had a good run in the 800 meters, finishing fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:14.55.
Freshman Jessica Shadley had solid efforts in her first meet in a Baylor uniform. Shadley turned in two top-five finishes, including a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.28 seconds. She also placed fifh in the high jump, clearing a height of 5-0.
Along with Shadley, freshman Lauren Rover finished third in the high jump after clearing a height of 5-2. Freshman Taylor Torres finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 37-5.
On the men's side, sophomore Brady Desko finished 10th in the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.68.
Baylor will be back in action after the turn of the calendar, traveling back to the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas, on Jan. 15.
