Dunn Named to USA Select Men's Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Baylor senior guard LaceDarius Dunn has been named to the 20-player USA Men's Select Team that will train against the 2010 USA Basketball Men's National Team, USA Basketball announced Thursday.
This past season, Dunn enjoyed one of the greatest all-around individual seasons in Baylor history, establishing single-season school records for points scored (704) and 3-point field goals made (116). An honorable mention All-American selection by Yahoo! Sports, the Monroe, La., native averaged a team-best 19.6 points and grabbed 4.8 rebounds in 36 games. He was named second-team All-Big 12 by the league's coaches and several media outlets and gained national recognition for his performance in the NCAA Tournament, earning NCAA All-Tournament Team honors for the South Region.
Led by eight players owning USA Basketball experience, the 20 college players will train against the Men's National Team during its July 19-24 training camp in Las Vegas. Dunn is one of three Big 12 representatives on the USA Select Team - Marcus Morris (Kansas) and Jacob Pullen (Kansas State).
Joining the Big 12 trio on the 2010 USA Basketball Select squad are Lavoy Allen (Temple), William Buford (Ohio State), Jimmer Fredette (BYU), Scotty Hopson (Tennessee), Scoop Jardine (Syracuse), JaJuan Johnson (Purdue), Jon Leuer (Wisconsin), Shelvin Mack (Butler), John Shurna (Northwestern), Kyle Singler (Duke), Chris Singleton (Florida State), Nolan Smith (Duke), Howard Thompkins (Georgia), Mike Tisdale (Illinois), Kemba Walker (UConn), Chris Wright (Dayton) and Tyler Zeller (North Carolina). Serving as co-head coaches of the USA Select Team will be Washington head coach coach Lorenzo Romar and Villanova head coach Jay Wright.
Members of the USA Select Team will converge on Las Vegas and conduct a private training session Mon., July 19 (1:30-3:30 p.m. CDT), then train with the USA National Team over the following four days (July 20-23).
The USA training camp will feature daily practice sessions from 2-5 p.m. CDT July 20-23 at UNLV's Cox Pavilion. The USA practices are closed to the general public. The camp will culminate with the 2010 USA Basketball Showcase, a Blue-White intra-squad game that will be held Sat., July 24, at 9 p.m. CDT at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus.
