Track Teams Honored by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS - The Baylor men's and women's track and field teams, along with 10 student-athletes, earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors as announced recently by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Baylor women, whose team was one of 151 NCAA programs honored, placed eight individuals among a list of 551. Junior Diamond Richardson was honored as one of 28 women who earned a 4.0 GPA. The list of BU honorees also includes Erin Bedell, Brittany Bruce, Kristen Hanselka, Christina Holland, Samantha Patty, Jessica Ubanyionwu and Cate Westenhover.
For the men, James Gilreath and Chris Gowell represented BU on the list of 357 individuals, while their squad was among 73 NCAA programs recognized.
According to the USTFCCCA, individuals must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or participated in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds) in their respective event. For the team honors, the institution must achieve a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or better.
