THE TOP FIVE
- After finishing one of the toughest stretches in the NCAA with three consecutive top-10 teams to open Big 12 play, Baylor will travel to Texas Tech on Wednesday. The Bears have won five consecutive meetings in Lubbock, and 10 in a row overall against the Red Raiders. In 2009, Baylor swept both meetings with Texas Tech.
- The Bears are also making their presence felt in the top-50 national rankings this week. As a team, Baylor is ranked second in the NCAA in digs per set at 18.85, while ranking 45th nationally in assists per set at 12.72. Individually, Caitlyn Trice is ranked eighth overall with 5.69 digs per set, while Elizabeth Graham cracked the top 10 in blocks per set with 1.44.
- Despite playing three top-10 teams to open Big 12 play, Baylor is now ranked in the top five in all seven major categories, while being the only team with over 850 digs (1,018) and more than 16.11 digs per set (18.85). Caitlyn Trice leads in digs (307) and digs per set (5.69), while Elizabeth Graham leads in blocks (78) and blocks per set (1.44).
- Trice has been a force in the back row for Baylor, tying the four-set match record for digs twice this season. The senior is the full-time libero for the first time in her career and has recorded double-digit digs in all 14 matches, over 20 digs in eight and over 30 digs in four. She had 32 in five sets against UNI and TCU, and 31 in four sets against SMU and Dayton.
- Baylor has enjoyed success against Texas Tech in the Jim Barnes era with a 10-2 record. Baylor has won each of the last 10 matches, including three sweeps and four five-set wins.
