WACO, Texas - Baylor's volleyball team put together a solid effort all-around, getting a match-high 12 kills from Alyssa Dibbern to sweep North Texas 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-16) on Tuesday night at the Ferrell Center. The win is the fourth in a row for the Bears.

Baylor (15-6) hit a solid .263 with 40 kills in three sets offensively, while averaging more than 20 digs per set on the defensive side to put together its 12 non-conference win of the year. Baylor's defense, held North Texas (11-12) to just a .069 hitting percentage with 34 kills.

"It was a good night to get some good work in," head coach Jim Barnes said. "We got the chance to play a number of players and work on a couple things we have been trying in practice. It was good to see our team gain focus as the match went on."

Individually, Baylor got nine kills from sophomore Zoe Adom, who lit up the first set with eight, while getting seven more from senior Briana Tolbert. On defense, the Bears had three players with at least 10 digs, including a team-high 15 from Allison King and 14 from Kate Harris, who also had 23 assists for a double-double. Senior Qian Zhang added 10 digs.

In the first set, Baylor jumped out to a 6-0 lead on five UNT errors. The Mean Green gathered themselves quickly, coming back to take an 8-7 lead. After the teams traded sideouts to 10-10, Baylor went on an 11-2 run that included five kills by Adom with the final three on three consecutive plays. Up 23-15, Baylor took advantage of a UNT error and an over-pass that senior Melissa Jones put away for the 25-15 win.

The second set stayed within one point each way until 7-7 when Baylor went on an 8-4 run to take the lead at 15-11. During the stretch, the error-prone Mean Green had seven errors and Jones added her second kill. Baylor pushed the lead to as many as five at 23-18 with a block assist by Jones and freshman Nicole Bardaji. Dibbern came alive at the end of the set to end a UNT run, putting away the final kill to win 25-21.

In the third set, Baylor got a kill and a block assist by freshman Tori Cox as part of a 5-1 run to open. North Texas battled back to 8-7, but Baylor put up a 4-1 run. Dibbern added three kills early in the set, then posted another to give BU a 18-11 lead and cap off a 4-0 run. Freshman Adri Nora added two kills down the stretch to help the Bears to a 25-16 win.

Baylor will be back in action at No. 16 Iowa State on Saturday, Oct. 15. The match at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa, is scheduled for 7 p.m.
