MT-Behlen Wins Two in USTA Qualifying Draw

MANSFIELD, Texas - After two days of qualifying draw action, Baylor freshman Lars Behlen is the lone Bear to remain active at the Futures of Mansfield Tournament's qualifying draw in Mansfield, Texas.
Behlen, who hails from Munster, Germany, needs to win one more match at the Walnut Creek Country Club to advance out of the qualifying draw and into the main draw of the USTA Pro Circuit event. Freshman Mate Zsiga has already gained entry into the tournament's main draw by winning the wild card tournament. Main draw action begins on Tuesday, Oct. 18.
Behlen dominated American Dante Saleh, 6-1, 6-0, in first-round action and beat 13th-seeded Daniel Chu of Canada, 6-4, 6-4, in the tournament's second round. He will take on the USA's Harrison Adams at 10 a.m. on Monday in the finals. The winner will be one of eight players to earn a berth in the tournament's main draw. Adams advanced by posting a three-set victory over seventh-seeded Artem Ilyushin (RUS)
Two other Bears lost in first round of tournament play. Kike Grangeiro, playing his first match since suffering an eye injury this summer, lost to the USA's Christian Schultz, 6-1, 6-3, while freshman Marko Krickovic fell in three sets to Australia's Blade Fong (1-6, 7-6(8), 6-3.
