Missouri started the season 10-1, nearly cracking the top 25, but have lost five of the last nine. Among the team's common opponents, the Tigers defeated Texas A&M 3-1 and lost to Kansas State 3-2.
Preseason all-Big 12 selection MB €ˆBrittney Brimmage is first in the Big 12, hitting at a .395 clip, while OH Lisa Henning ranks fifth in the league with 3.77 kills/set. S €ˆMolly Kreklow, also a preseason all-big 12 selection, ranks as one of the top setters in the Big 12 at 10.51 assists/set.
STORYLINES
- After an 0-3 start to conference play, Baylor earned its second consecutive Big 12 win with a sweep of Texas Tech on Wednesday at home.
- Despite a clean sweep in the series by Missouri last season, Baylor had won four in a row and five of the last seven meetings. Baylor is 8-5 at home all-time against MU.
- With the win over Texas Tech on Wednesday, head coach Jim Barnes earned his 130th victory at Baylor, surpassing the school record set by Brian Hosfeld from 1996-03.
- SR MB Briana Tolbert has been nearly unstoppable in Baylor's last two wins. She has 26 kills and just one error in 51 total attempts for a .490 hitting percentage, along with 12 blocks.
- In three starts at setter this season, JR €ˆKate Harris is averaging 10.50 assists per set, which would rank her fourth in the Big 12, but her season average is lower due to sets played at DS.
