WACO, Texas - Jaclyn Jansen and the Baylor women's golf team look to defend their tournament titles when the Lady Bears host the 2010 Baylor Spring Invitational April 11-12 at Twin Rivers Golf Club.

In last year's regular-season finale at Twin Rivers, Jansen notched her first career collegiate victory which helped propel the Lady Bears to their first tournament win in more than a year. Jansen birdied No. 18 to become the first Lady Bear to claim medalist honors since former teammate Hannah Burke in 2007. After leading by six strokes through the first 36 holes, the Lady Bears wrapped up its first win of the 2009-10 season with an 11-stroke victory.

Baylor has five top-10 individual finishes through the first two years of the Baylor Spring Invitational, including two top-five finishes in 2010. Four of Baylor's five golfers finished in the top 10 last season.

The Baylor Spring Invitational will tee off Monday, April 11, with 36 holes beginning with an 8:30 a.m. CDT shotgun start and continuous play through the second round. The tournament will conclude with the final 18 holes Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. CDT. Live scoring, which will be updated every three holes, will be available at www.GolfStat.com and www.BaylorBears.com. Baylor will try to defend its tournament title against a competitive 18-team field that includes seven teams ranked in the top 70 - Oklahoma (28), Augusta State (50), North Texas (53), Texas Tech (55), UTSA (58), UALR (63) and Baylor (70) - and eight teams from the Lone Star State.

Baylor, which has two top-five finishes in eight tournaments, is led by its junior duo of Chelsey Cothran and Jansen. Cothran, who is the only Lady Bear to have every round count towards the team score, owns a 74.48 scoring average and a 2.48 score vs. par. The Springdale, Ark., product has five top-25 finishes to her credit. Jansen is second behind Cothran in scoring average (75.24), score vs. par (3.32) and rounds of par or better (five).

Lene Hafsten-Morch, Jordan Rhodes and Kaylin Terry will round out Baylor's starting lineup. Four Baylor seniors - Hafsten-Morch, Rhodes, Kristen Hendrix and Morgan Chambers - will play in the Baylor Spring Invitational for the final time. Hendrix and Chambers will compete as individuals.

The Baylor Spring Invitational will be the Lady Bears' final tune-up before traveling to Columbia, Mo., for the 2011 Big 12 Women's Golf Championship (April 22-24).
