THE RUNDOWN
- Baylor turned in a successful meet at the NCAA €ˆWest Preliminary Rounds, gathering 13 entries into this week's national championship rounds. The Bears will have seven entries on the women's side and six on the men's side.
- Under head coach Todd Harbour, Baylor has posted 16 top-20 finishes nationally in cross country and track since he took over both programs in 2005-06. Six of those 16 have finished in the top 10 in the nation.
- Broken down by gender, Baylor's men and women have each had significant NCAA €ˆOutdoor Championships history. While the women have earned top-20 finishes the past three seasons, the men have 24 top-20 finishes, including 9 top-10s since 1980.
- Baylor's women are ranked 10th and the men are ranked 15th in the USTFCCCA computer rankings that predict where a team will finish at the NCAAs. From the Big 12, seven women's and seven men's teams are among the national top 25.
- Among Big 12 teams in the national rankings, Baylor's women are the third highest, checking in at No. 9 behind only Texas A&M and Oklahoma. The men are ranked the fifth highest at No. 12, behind TAMU, Texas Tech, Texas and Nebraska.
- Freshman Tiffani McReynolds claimed the lone Big 12 title for the Bears at the conference championships, winning the 100-meter hurdles. McReynolds defeated the three previous Big 12 champions of the event in the finals.
- At the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, Baylor claimed a total of 25 all-conference honors, including three runner-up and one third-place finish in the men's and women's relays. Baylor is ranked in the West's top five in each of the four relays.
- BU has seen three school records fall and another tied this outdoor season. Tiffani McReynolds (100mH - 12.74), Skylar White (Shot Put - 56-3.75) and Nick Lyons (Javelin 257-2) own records, while Woodrow Randall (100m - 10.13) tied one.
- Baylor has won a total of 30 individual victories this outdoor season after had the top mark in the 100 meters at the NCAA €ˆWest. The Bears won a season-high eight at their own Michael Johnson, and added four more prestigious Drake Relays titles.
- This spring, head coach Todd Harbour added three signees to an already strong recruiting class. The class now totals 17, including 10 women and seven men.
