The Horned Frogs enter the match undefeated with a 9-0 record, including a 3-0 mark at home. SR MB €ˆKristen Hester leads the offense with a .474 hitting percentage and 3.56 kills per set. JR S Megan Munce sets the offense at 9.84 assists per set, while JR €ˆL €ˆSarah Joeckel averages 5.47 digs per set for the defense.
The Horned Frogs have captured three tournament crowns in 2011, including the Villanova Classic, SMU €ˆDoubletree Invitational and the TCU Tournament.
STORYLINES
- Baylor had its seven-match win streak snapped against Mississippi State, but got back winning ways with a sweep over Lamar to cap a 2-1 weekend at the MCM €ˆElegante' Invite.
- With her first dig against UTEP, senior libero Allison King broke the BU career digs record of 1,575 set by Cory Sivertson (1991-94). After the weekend, King's total now sits at 1,642.
- FR €ˆOH €ˆAdri Nora and JR €ˆMB €ˆTorri Campbell each earned all-tournament honors at Lamar's MCM €ˆElegante' Invite. It marks the first for Nora and second of the season for Campbell.
- In three matches at Lamar, Campbell hit .463 with 34 kills and just three errors in 67 total attempts, raising her season hitting percentage to .398. The mark ranks third in the Big 12.
- In her best stretch of the season, Nora racked up 33 kills over three matches at Lamar, including a career-high 14 against UTEP in a 3-2 victory.
- Junior transfer Alyssa Dibbern made a big impact on offense and defense at Lamar. She hit .324 with 28 kills and racked up 16 total blocks (4s, 12a) in three matches.
- Setter Brittany Ridenour leads the team with four double-doubles, all of the assist-dig variety. Qian Zhang has two kill-dig double-doubles and Torri Campbell has one with kills and blocks.
- Despite losing seven letterwinners to graduation, Baylor reloaded with five incoming freshman, a junior college transfer and former Lady Bear basketball player Melissa Jones.
