The Baylor soccer team (4-1-1) return home for a pair of matches, beginning with Texas State (2-3-0) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. The Bears then welcome North Texas (4-0-1) to Betty Lou Mays Field Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
"It will be nice to play in front of our home crowd again," head coach Marci Jobson said. "The road can teach you a lot, and we learned and performed well. We have two more games to prepare for conference play and these two teams are very talented."
Baylor is coming off its first loss of the season, a 2-1 defeat to Kentucky in last weekend's Courtyard by Marriott Airport Cardinal Classic. The Bears opened with a 3-0 victory over host, Louisville.
Offensively, BU is led by a pair of players with three goals, as Alexa Wilde and Dana Larsen are tied atop the list. Of the squad's 14 goals this season, seven have been scored by freshmen.
Texas State is coming off a 1-0 win in overtime over UTEP last Sunday. Baylor enters the match with a 2-0-1 series record, as the two teams tied 0-0 in their last game, Sept. 26, 2008 in San Marcos.
North Texas enters the weekend undefeated and will first host Sam Houston State Friday before traveling to Waco. Baylor leads the all-time series, 4-3, but suffered a 2-1 loss at UNT in their last meeting on Sept. 11, 2009.
Friday is Family Friday, as fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four drinks for $20. Sunday will be Texas Farm Bureau Kid's Free Sunday with children 12 and under receiving free admission. In addition, to honor 9/11, all military personnel will receive a free ticket on the day of the game with proof of military ID.
