COLUMBIA, Mo. - Josh Ludy's two-run homer tied the game in the sixth, and Dan Evatt put Baylor in front to stay with a solo shot in the seventh, as the Bears completed a sweep of Missouri with a 12-7 win on Saturday afternoon at Taylor Stadium.

Baylor (25-7, 12-0 Big 12) extended its winning streak to 14 games, which is its longest since a 14-game streak in 1999. The Bears' 12-game Big 12 winning streak is the fourth-longest by any team in league history.

"We fought like we hadn't been winning," head coach Steve Smith said. "Sometimes you have a game like this and it's pretty easy to back off and say `we've had our run,' but the guys gave us some quality at-bats."

The Bears sweep of Missouri (16-14, 3-6 Big 12) was their fourth consecutive Big 12 series sweep - Baylor never swept more than two straight Big 12 series prior to this season.

Baylor trailed 6-2 heading to the sixth inning, but the Bears tied the game with a four-run outburst, then put the decisive runs on the board with four more runs in the seventh.

Dillon Newman (1-1) held Missouri to an unearned run over the final 3.0 innings to earn the win, while the Tigers' Jake Walsh (1-2) took the loss after allowing four runs in 0.2 inning, including the home runs to Ludy and Evatt.

All eight of Baylor's hits through the first five innings were two-out singles, but Adam Toth delivered a RBI double in the sixth, and Max Muncy drove in a run with a fielder's choice to cue Missouri's lead to 6-4. Ludy followed with a game-tying two-run blast into the Tigers' bullpen.

Newman came on in relief and worked the first 1-2-3 inning of the game in the bottom of the sixth, and Evatt put the Bears in front to stay with a home run to left-center leading off the seventh. Baylor added three more runs on Toth's RBI single - his fourth hit of the game - a sacrifice fly and another RBI single from Lawton Langford.

Toth finished 4-for-4 with a walk, one double, two runs and two RBI, while Evatt went 3-for-5 and Jake Miller had two hits and scored a career-high four runs.

The Bears weren't completely safe even with a 10-6 lead. Rain started coming down in the seventh, and had the inning not been completed, the score would've reverted back to the 6-6 tie at the end of the sixth inning. With a 2:45 p.m. travel curfew in place, the game would've likely ended in a tie, but the teams were able to play through the rain and finish eight innings before the curfew arrived.

Joey Hainsfurther made his first career Big 12 start on the mound for the Bears. He struck out the side in the first and second innings, but Missouri got to him for three runs in 2.1 innings of work in the no-decision. Crayton Bare and Newman struck out three batters each, giving the Baylor pitching staff 12 strikeouts without issuing a walk in the game.

Baylor returns to action with a pair of midweek games against Louisiana-Monroe at Baylor Ballpark. The teams meet at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday and 4:05 p.m. Wednesday.
