STORYLINES
• Baylor will have a total of 28 entries in the field at the NCAA €ˆWest Preliminary Rounds. The men and women each have 14 entries that will be vying for a top-12 spot that earns berth to the NCAA €ˆFinals site in Des Moines, Iowa, June 6-9.
• Baylor is currently ranked No. 21 in the NCAA €ˆon the women's side and No. 24 on the men's side. The BU €ˆwomen are one of seven Big 12 teams in the top 25, while the BU €ˆmen are one of the league's six in the top 25.
• In its last meet, Baylor's women placed fourth and the men were sixth at the Big 12 Outdoor Championship in Manhattan, Kan. BU €ˆcombined for a total of 11 top-three finishes at the conference meet.
• Baylor totaled 39 all-Big 12 honors at the league championship, coming from a total of 24 competitors who placed in their respective event's top eight. Baylor's women garnered 20, while the men posted 19.
• At the league meet, two more school records fell with Everett Walker breaking the 100-meter mark with a run of 10.12 set by Woodrow Randall and Michael Johnson, and Christina Holland in the 400 hurdles at 56.87 set by Chava Demart.
• Baylor will again be without the services of three-time Big 12 champion and NCAA €ˆAll-American hurdler Tiffani McReynolds, who suffered a leg injury earlier this season at the Michael Johnson Dr Pepper Classic in Waco on April 21.
• In the classroom, Baylor has had a record year with a total of 41 on the Academic All-Big 12 teams, including 25 on the women's side and 16 more on the men's side. Of those 41, 13 earned the honor for at least the second time.
• BU has seen two more school records fall this outdoor season. Junior Skylar White shattered the five-year-old discus record with a toss of 189-2, while sophomore Erin Atkinson broke the hammer record by 41 feet at 204-1.
• As a team, Baylor has combined to win a total of 35 individual events during the outdoor season. The BU €ˆwomen have claimed 21 with seven coming from Skylar White in the throws, while the men have won 14 with six coming in relay races.
• Junior Skylar White has won four of six shot put competitions and three of seven discus competitions, earned Big 12 Athlete of the Week and broke the school discus record this season.
