STORYLINES
• Baylor enters the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in Manhattan, Kan., looking to improve on last season's finishes of sixth on the men's side and seventh on the women's side. BU hasn't finished higher than fourth on either side since 1999.
• Baylor returns a total of 13 all-Big 12 performers, who have totaled 41 all-Big 12 honors during their careers. The group includes two former Big 12 outdoor champions in Whitney Prevost (4x100 in 2010) and Zwede Hewitt (4x400 in 2009).
• Baylor will be without the services of three-time Big 12 indoor and outdoor champion Tiffani McReynolds, who suffered a leg injury earlier this season at the Michael Johnson Dr Pepper Classic in Waco on April 21.
• Baylor is currently ranked No. 23 in the NCAA €ˆon the women's side and No. 30 on the men's side. The BU €ˆwomen are one of eight Big 12 teams in the top 25, while the BU €ˆmen are one of the league's five in the top 25.
• Baylor has a total of 16 individual marks ranked among the nation's top 25 heading into the weekend. Of those marks, nine are ranked in the top 15 among NCAA competitors, including Skylar White's No. 3 discus mark of 189-2.
• In the classroom, Baylor has had a record year with a total of 41 on the Academic All-Big 12 teams, including 25 on the women's side and 16 more on the men's side. Of those 41, 13 earned the honor for at least the second time.
• BU has seen two school records fall this outdoor season. Junior Skylar White shattered the five-year-old discus record by nearly than 11 feet with a toss of 189-2, while sophomore Erin Atkinson broke the hammer record by 40 feet at 202-10.
• As a team, Baylor has combined to win a total of 35 individual events during the outdoor season. The BU €ˆwomen have claimed 21 with seven coming from Skylar White in the throws, while the men have won 14 with six coming in relay races.
• Junior Skylar White has posted a banner outdoor season, winning four of five shot put competitions and three of six discus competitions, earning Big 12 Athlete of the Week and breaking the school discus record.
• This spring, head coach Todd Harbour added three signees to an already strong recruiting class. The class now totals 17, including 10 men and seven women.
