2012 Golfweek All-American Teams
WACO, Texas - Baylor freshman women's golfer Hayley Davis picked up her second All-American honor, earning honorable mention from Golfweek. Davis, the first All-American in program history, was named a second-team All-American by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) in May.
The Wimborne, England, native was one of 50 golfers named to pick up Golfweek All-American honors. The first, second and third teams as well as honorable mention were determined by the players' order in the final Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.
One of Baylor's two 2012 All-Big 12 performers, posted a single-season program record with a 73.08 scoring average in 37 rounds. She finished 11th or better in 11 of Baylor's 12 tournaments in 2011-12, including nine top-10 finishes.
Davis opened her freshman season with back-to-back second-place finishes, earning Big 12 Women's Golfer of the Month honors for September. She also led the Lady Bears in score vs. par (1.16) and rounds of par or better (15). Nearly 92 percent of Davis' 37 rounds counted towards the team score (34 of 37 rounds).
She led Baylor to a program-best third-place finish at the Big 12 Championship, a fifth-place finish at the NCAA West Regional and just its second NCAA Championship appearance in program history. Davis earned Big 12 All-Tournament (with Chelsey Cothran) and NGCA All-West Region distinction (with Jaclyn Jansen).
