LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Bryce Petty threw for 430 yards and three touchdowns in fewer than three quarters, Lache Seastrunk ran for 109 yards and a score and sixth-ranked Baylor routed Kansas 59-14 on Saturday night for its school-record 11th straight win.
The Bears (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) piled up 500 yards of offense in taking a 38-0 lead by halftime, and then relaxed as coach Art Briles pulled many of his starters in the third quarter.
The nation's highest-scoring offense still finished with 743 yards, and eight of its nine scoring drives took fewer than 2 minutes. Four different Baylor players had touchdown runs - Petty among them - while Tevin Reese hauled in two of his three TD tosses.
Jake Heaps was held to just 85 yards passing and a touchdown for Kansas (2-5, 0-4), which has now lost 25 consecutive Big 12 games.
HIGHLIGHTS
• With 743 yards of total offense in the game, the Bears have had at least 400 yards of total offense in 34 straight games dating back to Dec. 29, 2011 -- the 34-game streak is the nation's longest active streak (Texas A&M is next closest at 20 straight entering the day).
• Baylor's 743 yards of total offense were the most ever by Baylor €ˆin a road game and the 5th-most in BU single-game history.
• Baylor's 59 points were its 6th-most ever in a conference game (Big 12 or SWC) and its 2nd-most ever in a conference road game (63 in loss at West Virginia in 2012).
• Baylor's 45 point margin-of-victory tied its 5th-highest ever in a conference game and was its 2nd-highest ever in a conference road game (46 at SMU in 1989).
• Baylor has scored in less than a minute on 22 of its 55 TD drives this season (3 of 8 vs. KU). The Bears had 20 TD drives of less than a minute during the 2012 season.
• The Bears have scored in two minutes or less in 44 of 55 TD drives this season (8 of 8 vs. KU). BU €ˆhad 42 TD drives of less than two minutes during the 2012 season.
• QB Bryce Petty completed 20-of-32 passes for a career-high 430 yards and 3 TDs, and he added his 6th rushing TD €ˆof the year. He's thrown for 300+ yards and at least 2 TDs in all seven career starts.
• Petty's 430 passing yards tied Robert Griffin III (2011 at Texas A&M) for 3rd-most in a game in €ˆBaylor history.
• Petty extended his school record with a 7th straight 300-yard passing game.
• Petty moved into 6th on Baylor's single-season list in both passing yards (2,453) and passing TDs (18), 5th in TD responsibility (24) and 7th in total offense (2,526).
• IR Tevin Reese (110 receiving yards) had his 12th career 100-yard receiving game, 3rd-most in program history. He trails only Terrance Williams (13) and Kendall €ˆWright (19).
• Reese had a 62-yard TD catch in the 1st quarter and a 25-yard TD catch in the 2nd quarter, giving him 24 career receiving TDs (3rd-most in €ˆBU history). He's gone 40+ yards on 21 of his 24 career receiving TDs, and he averages 50.6 yards per career TD catch.
• Reese and Antwan Goodley both have 8 receiving TDs this season, tying them for 6th on Baylor's single-season receiving TDs list.
• Goodley had his streak of 7 consecutive games with at least one TD catch snapped -- it was the nation's 2nd-longest active streak entering the day.
• Goodley moved into 9th on Baylor's single-season receiving yards list (894).
• RB €ˆLache Seastrunk (13 carries, 109 yards, 1 TD) €ˆhas rushed for 100+ yards in 10 of his last 11 games.
• Seastrunk's 11 rushing TDs this year rank 6th in BU single-season history.
