WACO, Texas - The Baylor women's tennis doubles duo of
Kelley Anderson and
Blair Shankle was knocked out of the USTA/ITA Regional Championship in the semifinal round on Sunday at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Shankle, a sophomore, and Anderson, a freshman, came up just short versus the event's No. 1 seed, Ines Deheza and Rachel Pierson of Texas A&M. Despite dropping the first set, 6-4, the BU pairing battled back to take the second set, 6-4.
In the third and deciding set, the Lady Bears were unable to convert on four match points and ended up falling, 13-11.
HIGHLIGHTS
? Shankle and Anderson went 3-1 at the event, after being paired together for the first time competitively.
