Volleyball Falls to West Virginia in Four Sets

THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas - West Virginia hit .263, used seven service aces and out-blocked Baylor 11-7 in a 25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19 win over the Bears Wednesday night at the Ferrell Center. The Big 12's leader in kills, Jordan Anderson, led the Mountaineers with 19 and added 10 digs for a double-double.

Baylor (11-11) dropped to 1-6 in Big 12 play for the first time since 2005 with the loss, and it was the sixth-straight league loss for the Bears after defeating Kansas State to open the Big 12 season Sept. 27.

Andie Malloy reached 20 kills for the fifth time this season, hit .292 and had 11 digs for her 13th double-double of the season in the loss for Baylor.

Entering intermission down two sets to none, Baylor used a .286 hitting percentage to win set three keeping the Mountaineers (13-8, 3-4) at a .163 clip. However, in set four Baylor trailed 18-13, fought back to within one point of the lead at 20-19, but the Mountaineers scored the final six points of the match to seal their second-straight win over Baylor.

HIGHLIGHTS
? Andie Malloy recorded her 13th double-double of the season with 20 kills and 11 digs on a .292 hitting percentage. It was her fifth match of the season with at least 20 kills.
? Amy Rosenbaum passed the 50-assists mark (51) for the seventh time this season and helped Baylor hit .233 for the match.
? Katie Staiger had 15 kills on a .222 hitting percentage.
? Ashley Myer had 12 digs, Jana Brusek added 11, and Thea Munch-Soegaard had 10 on the back row for Baylor; the Bears out-dug West Virginia 60-57.
? Sam Hill had nine kills (.263) and led the Bears with four blocks.

STAT OF THE MATCH I
7 - West Virginia had seven service aces to Baylor's none, and the Bears had five service errors in the loss.
