THE RUNDOWN WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Baylor volleyball team trailed two sets to one before rallying for a 21-25, 25-23, 17-25, 26-24, 15-12 win over Illinois State at the Smith Center Friday afternoon. The Bears took down their first opponent at George Washington's Colonials Invitational, and Baylor will face the hosts at 6 p.m, CDT.
Four players had double-digit kills, and
Nicole Bardaji and
Andie Malloy had double-doubles in the win over the Redbirds (4-5).
After ISU hit .542 in set three to help the Redbirds win by eight points, Baylor (6-2) faced match point in set four, trailing 24-23. However,
Katie Staiger and
Tola Itiola posted kills and the Redbirds' Stacey Niao had an attacking error to help BU score the final three points and force the fifth set.
Malloy had five kills in the final set, and the Bears tallied 11 kills as a team in the fifth, hitting .400 to take the victory.
HIGHLIGHTS • For the third time this season,
Amy Rosenbaum passed the 50-assists mark in a match and set a career-high with 56.

Andie Malloy and
Katie Staiger led Baylor with 16 kills apiece.
• Malloy had her fifth double-double of the season adding 12 digs while
Nicole Bardaji's career-high 12 digs gave her, her first career double-double to go along with 12 kills.

Hope Ogden tied a career-high with 26 digs (26, vs. Texas Tech, 10/10/12).
• Malloy added four service aces, a season-high for any Bear player.
• Richburg matched a season-high with 12 kills and led BU with four blocks.

Tola Itiola had her third double-digit kill match of the season with 12.
