BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew
On his team's performance:

"I'll tell you, you can't get much more unselfish play than 24 assists and only nine turnovers. It was excellent offensive execution with guys making the extra pass. We knew we had to get a good shot on our first [attempt] because you've got two monster teams on the glass - two top five teams in the country. If you were depending on a lot of second or third chance points, it was going to be tough."

On if this was Baylor's most complete game of the season:
"Yes. I know everyone hates hearing this, but when guys make shots, it does help. We made shots tonight, they missed shots tonight, and then momentum comes into play. Our crowd did a great job. We were really unselfish, and we didn't turn the ball over. There you have it. Last game, we had some good looks and didn't make shots, but they made their shots."

On what the crowd did for the team:
"No question, the crowd impacts a game - plain and simple. If you don't have a good crowd, you don't have a good home-court advantage. We've been blessed this year to have great support."

Senior F Royce O'Neale
On what clicked offensively:

"It was just us sharing the ball. We had 24 assists on nine turnovers so everybody was sharing the ball, finding the right shot and making the shot."

On playing at home (won 16 of last 17):
"Having a big time environment - big ups to our student section. They did a good job of bringing people out. Just having nice crowds, it always helps, especially in the Big 12 Conference. Big crowds help us, motivate us, and help us overcome."

Senior G Kenny Chery
On bouncing back from the Oklahoma State game:

"It's just the guys' dedication. After we lost to Oklahoma State, guys were already ready to watch film, learn from the mistakes we made and move on and prepare for the next game."

On crossing-over Cameron Ridley and making him fall:
"He's a pretty big dude so I couldn't miss him. I saw him fall but I'm a humble guy, I'm not worried about that, I'm trying to win a basketball game."

TEXAS POSTGAME QUOTES

Texas Head Coach Rick Barnes
On starting off slow in the first half:

"I would have to say I am not doing a good job in terms of getting the message across to the them and what we need to do to get off to a good start. I know that two games in a row we have dug a hole and when I look at it they came out and made some shots, and we missed some shots. We had some good looks at the rim. I'm really proud of Cam [Ridley] for coming back because he was down for a little bit because he missed some shots but he came back and did a good job. It goes back to where offensively when we don't capitalize there, I think it spills back into what we are doing defensively. We can't let that happen, we just can't let that happen.

On cutting the lead to four points toward the end of the first half:
"What I told our guys was this, again I've done this long enough to know that teams can come out and score and make some baskets but we fought our way back in it. We came out of a timeout and we were down four, the way we were trying to play we made an adjustment and moved Javan [Felix] to the corner. He was wide open and Isaiah [Taylor] throws the ball out of bounds - big play there. Again, we are 5-for-26 from the three, that's not who we are. You go back to games where we have done that, that's not what we should be doing. Because I really felt like we could get the ball inside if our post guys would attack that space in there consistently. But we didn't enough, and I go back and John Holmes did it twice in the second half. I told him, you should be there every possession we have the ball until they adjust. That's where I think we have got to get better. We have got to realize that when something is working you have to stay with it. I thought we put way too much on Isaiah, he went three possessions where he settles for those two threes, and I think that is fatigue, I really do. He was out there a lot, but everything was being placed on him because we weren't getting the consistent play that we need from his teammates.

On Texas being too experienced to cave down the stretch:
"What we are getting is not game situations, like I said coming out of a timeout. There is no reason for certain turnovers, Conner [Lammert] had one in the second half. We did exactly what we wanted, he slipped but it was almost like he was surprised he caught the ball there. That's what we do right there. Again, we have good guys, I know they want to win but everybody wants to win. It goes down to understanding that - the way we started the second half. I think John, all three times he got the ball, he shot it. I think Isaiah had three possessions where he shot two jumpers - he came down. We have to believe in each other; we have to believe in what we are doing and not one guy thinking he has to go do it.

Sophomore G Isaiah Taylor
On the uphill battle to start the game:

"We have been doing the past couple of games. We haven't come out strong the past couple of games. The other team got up and it's been hard to come back. The Big 12 is competitive - it is hard to come back against teams like this. Baylor came out hot, they executed what they wanted to do, got open shots, [Kenny] Chery played the pick and roll, they got offensive rebounds and that's where they hurt us."

Senior F Jonathan Holmes
On Myles Turner's play during the game:

"He is a freshman; he is still trying to figure things out. I don't think he did anything bad in particular. He just needs to get better - you can put any of this on him - he is a freshman. The juniors and seniors, it falls on us."
