THE RUNDOWN
NORMAN, Oklahoma â '¬" The Bears (12-4, 1-2 Big 12) fell short in four sets to the Oklahoma Sooners (7-8, 1-2 Big 12), unable to find an advantage in front of a packed house at McCasland Field House.
Fighting against a 14-8 blocking advantage for the Sooners, the Bears dropped their second Big 12 road match, 18-25, 25-23, 18-25, 14-25.
OU got out to a quick start, building an early six-point lead that they would never lose, taking the first set 25-18.
The Bears rallied back in the second set, working out to a 17-14 lead. The Sooners attack responded with a 5-0 run to regain the lead. BU rattled off a 4-0 run of their own to take the second set, 25-23.
After staying near even through most of the third set, OU pulled away late to take a 25-18 set win.
The fourth set was another tight one at the start, with neither team able to create separation through much of the set. The Sooners jumped ahead late with an 8-0 run, pushing their lead to 20-12 in the set.
With a balanced attack and stifling defense, the Sooners closed out the match with a 25-14 victory in the fourth and final set. BU couldn't work past nine service errors, the most by Baylor since its Sept. 4th match with Sam Houston State.
Baylor was led offensively by 15 kills from Andie Malloy and 13 from Shelly Fanning. Malloy also chalked up 10 digs, earning a double-double.
HIGHLIGHTS • Andie Malloy recorded a double-double, getting 15 kills and 12 digs for the Bears.
• Malloy's 15 kills were the match-high in the loss.
• Shelly Fanning led all Bears with a .321 attacking percentage, picking up 13 kills and adding in five blocks.
• Amy Rosenbaum had a match-high 25 assists.
• Rosenbaum's 23rd assist of the night moved her past Shelly Ginter for eighth most assists in BU program history.
• Morgan Reed's 4th assist on the night was the 700th of her career.
• Jana Brusek had a match-high 15 digs.

WHAT'S NEXT Baylor hosts No. 3 Texas on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Ferrell Center. The match will serve as the team's Dig Pink Match, honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
