Kiah Generette and
Blair Shankle carded two more doubles victories Wednesday to advance to the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships main draw.
Facing 35th-ranked Katarina Adamovic and Vladica Babic of Oklahoma State at the Riviera Tennis Club, Generette and Shankle secured an 8-5 upset to move on to the final round of the qualifying draw.
Playing for a chance to be one of eight qualifying tandems to the main draw, Generette and Shankle bested Virginia's Danielle Collins and Stephanie Nauta, 8-5.
Generette and Shankle will be the first BU duo to play in the main draw since the fifth-ranked duo of Ema Burgic and Victoria Kisialeva did so in 2013.

On Thursday, the BU tandem will face another qualifying tandem in Oklahoma State's 36th-ranked Viktoriya Lushkova and Carla Tur Mari at 12 p.m. CT in the first round of the doubles main draw. If Generette and Shankle win that match they will play again at 6 p.m. CT against the draw's No. 6 seeded and seventh-ranked Kendal Woodard and Paige Hourigan of Georgia Tech.
