Volleyball Cruises Past Texas Tech in Four Sets

THE RUNDOWN
LUBBOCK, Texas - Baylor volleyball (15-9, 3-7 Big 12) outpaced the Texas Tech Red Raiders (13-12, 2-9 Big 12) in four sets, 25-20, 23-25, 25-14, 25-20, in the United Supermarkets Arena.
The Bears were led by the team's best blocking effort in conference play this season, recording 13.5 team blocks. Adrien Richburg anchored the middle, posting a career-high 10 blocks.
After TTU snuck away with a tight second set win, the Bears responded with a dominating third set run. Trading points out to an 8-6 BU lead to start the third, Baylor slammed the door shut, going on a 10-0 run and never looking back.
In the fourth and final set, Texas Tech built a 10-5 lead, forcing a BU timeout. Out of the timeout, the Bears made the adjustments and rattled off a 10-2 run to regain the lead and roll on to close out the match.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Andie Malloy's 14 kills and 13 digs earned her the 26th double-double of her career and the seventh of the season.
- Jana Brusek recorded 21 digs, matching a season-high mark.
- Senior Adrien Richburg hit a career-high point in blocks, posting 10 block assists in the winning effort.
- The 13.5 team blocks recorded by BU is the squad's highest conference mark and the third best blocking performance of the season.
- In addition to a 10 kill outing, freshman Shelly Fanning's fourth kill of the night was the 250th of her BU career.
