WACO, Texas ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" Baylor women's tennis freshman Elizabeth Profit lost in straight sets at the Bush's $50,000 Waco Showdown Tuesday at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Profit was unable to get past world No. 148 and the draw's No. 6 seed Jana Cepelova, 6-0, 6-0 in the first round of the 32-person singles main draw at the USTA Pro Circuit event.

On Wednesday, Kiah Generette will begin her run in the singles main draw as she faces second-seeded and world No. 121 Naomi Broady of Great Britain. That match is slated to start at 10 a.m. In the afternoon, Generette will partner with Blair Shankle to play in the opening round of the doubles main draw. The BU duo will face Jan Abaza and Viktorija Golubic.
A session of the Cub Tennis clinic will start at 5 p.m. Children under the age of 11 can come receive free tennis instruction from Baylor players and staff. Tennis equipment will be provided, but athletic clothing, including tennis shoes, is required.
