Women's Tennis Ends Waco Showdown Run

The Baylor women's tennis team wrapped up play in the Bush's $50,000 Waco Showdown Wednesday at the Hurd Tennis Center.

Senior Kiah Generette opened the day by taking a 5-3 lead in the first set on world No. 121 and second-seeded Naomi Broady in the opening-round of singles main draw. However, Broady rebounded to win the match 7-5, 6-3 to knock Generette out of the draw.

Later in the day, Generette paired with Blair Shankle in the opening round of the doubles main draw. The BU duo pushed Jan Abaza and Viktorija Golubic to three sets, but ultimately fell 6-0, 4-6, 6-4.
