No. 4/4 Baylor Hosts Oral Roberts...
The No. 4/4 Baylor Lady Bears will host Oral Roberts in the second game of a four-game slate to close out the non-conference portion of the 2015-16 season. Baylor will play Oral Roberts (Dec. 17) before heading to Winter Park, Fla., to play Miami (FL) and James Madison, Dec. 19 and Dec. 21, respectively, in the Florida Sunshine Classic. Baylor opens Big 12 Conference play on Wed., Dec. 30, at Oklahoma State.
Sixteenth-year head coach Kim Mulkey's Lady Bear squad is led on the season by All-American junior forward Nina Davis, junior guard Alexis Jones and freshman post Kalani Brown with 16.2, 13.2 and 11.6 points per game, respectively. Senior point guard Niya Johnson averages 6.6 points, a nation-leading 10.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds a contest. Freshman post Beatrice Mompremier leads the Lady Bears on the boards, hauling down 5.8 per game while Davis follows closely at 5.7 a contest.
As a team, Baylor is shooting a Big 12-leading .534 (328-614). Baylor holds down four of the top five spots on the Big 12 field goal percentage list. Davis ranks No. 1 (.674) while Mompremier checks in at No. 2 (.673), Cave No. 3 (.667) and Brown is No. 5 (.635).
The Lady Bears lead the Big 12 in 11 categories: scoring offense (84.3), scoring margin (+36.6), field goal percentage (.534), field goal percentage defense (.298), scoring defense (47.7), rebounding defense (29.6), assists (24.5), steals (10.7), turnover margin (+3.2), assist/turnover ratio (1.7) and defensive rebounds (32.0).
Oral Roberts, under third-year head coach Misti Cussen, enters the contest at 2-8 on the season and has lost seven straight contests. The Golden Eagles are led by sophomore guard Bria Pitts and sophomore forward Faith Ihim's 10.2 a contest each. Maria Martianez, a freshman forward, is the team's leading rebounder at 5.9 per outing while Ihim follows with 5.7 a game.

In individual NCAAà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € Division WBB statistics, Niya Johnson leads the nation in assists per game (10.0) and ranks No. 4 in assist/turnover while Nina Davis ranks No. 3 in field goal percentage (.674).
As a team, the Lady Bears rank among the top 10 nationally in 10 categories: assists per game (No. 1, 25.4), assists (No. 1, 254), assist/turnover ratio (No. 2, 1.72), field goal percentage defense (No. 2, .298), field goal percentage (No. 2, .534), scoring margin (No. 3, +36.6), scoring defense (No. 3, 47.7), blocked shots (No. 3, 61), rebound margin (No. 5, 16.4) and rebounds (No. 10, 460).
