WBB's Mompremier Receives Big 12 Weekly Honor

Freshman post Beatrice Mompremier earned her first Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor while Oklahoma State's Brittney Martin was named Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The honors were voted on by a media panel that covers the Conference.
Mompremier, a Miami, Fla., native, recorded her second career double-double with 14 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in Baylor's 77-63 victory over James Madison in the Florida Sunshine Classic. The 6-4 post hauled down 15 of her 17 boards and tallied seven of her 14 points in the first half. Mompremier played a career-high 26 minutes and shot 44.4 percent (4-9) from the floor and 66.7 percent (6-9) from the free throw line. In addition, she recorded two steals, an assist and a block.
Mompremier is the second Baylor player to earn Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors, Kalani Brown was the recipient on Nov. 23. Junior forward/post Nina Davis has been named Big 12 Player of the Week twice (Nov. 23 & Dec. 21).
